Clean Drinking water Crises
Around the globe, 800 million people don not have access to clean drinking water. The contaminated water used by different communities around the world is causing a variety of diseases. An estimated 810,000 children younger than the age of 5 die from diarrhea each year. Majority of the cases were found in the third world countries. The consequences f contaminated water and flawed sanitation are affecting human health and causing serious health issues. 2.3 billion People, or nearly 1 in 3, lack access to proper sanitation system [1]. Diarrheal is killing one child every 1 minute [2].
GICD with the help of local and international donors are building new toilets, one per family and are building new toilets in schools for children. Rough estimated cost per toilet is around US 4 2000.00. GICD is installing new water pumps one per family and for school which provide safe drinking water for the local communities.
